About Bluewatch Training

The professional training and regulated qualification delivery arm of Yorkshire Lifeguards.

Bluewatch Training is the professional training and regulated qualification delivery arm of Yorkshire Lifeguards.

Public-facing aquatic lifesaving and lifeguarding pathways sit within Yorkshire Lifeguard Academy, including progression into NPLQ, NVBLQ and Open Water Lifeguard. Where regulated professional qualifications are delivered, they are administered and quality-assured through Bluewatch Training as the RLSS Approved Training Provider.

Bluewatch Training also delivers professional first aid and workplace safety courses for employers, schools, nurseries, leisure venues, outdoor settings and community organisations. Our RLSS UK first aid courses carry Ofqual-regulated qualifications where applicable and are CIMSPA endorsed where applicable. Courses are delivered at your premises or an agreed venue across Yorkshire and the East Riding.

Workplace & Employer Courses

First aid qualifications for nominated workplace first aiders, designed to support employers in providing appropriate first aid provision based on their workplace, workforce, activities and risk assessment. The level of provision required depends on your setting and risk profile, and employers remain responsible for their own first aid needs assessment.

Ongoing RLSS staff training & compliance support.

Bluewatch Training can support leisure centres, swimming pools, schools, holiday parks, swim schools and other aquatic venues with ongoing RLSS staff training and training-record support.

As an RLSS Approved Training Provider, Bluewatch Training can help venues maintain regular training for lifeguards, first aiders and rescue-trained staff — including staff holding qualifications such as NPLQ, NRASTC, SPERA and relevant first aid awards.

RLSS UK’s online training platform also allows managers to view qualification information, digital wall charts, training history, uploaded training registers and indicators showing when staff qualifications are approaching expiry. CPD certificates are available where RLSS UK advertised training plans are followed.
